Requirements
If you have a OneDrive account, you have access to MS Teams. Please visit OneDrive Requirements if you need an account.
If you are not an active UBC employee or student, you may have access through an external MS Teams guest account, created when a UBC member sends you a meeting invite.
Avoid using Safari if you use a web browser to access Microsoft Teams. Other web browsers (Google Chrome, Firefox, etc) should work.
You can request a new Team from UBC IT. There are different Teams for specific purposes:
Course Team for Instructors: share class content and provide your students with a place to post. You will need to input the course code, course number, section and the term.
Student Team: for study or project groups.
Department Team: collaborate together in channel conversations and share files.
1. Submit a web request here (go to Microsoft Teams section).
2. Be specific about the type of Team you want to create under "Enter Description of the Team".
3. Add a minimum of two owners per team. Click Save and wait for an email confirmation from UBC IT.
