Description: UBC Botanical Garden is pleased to be hosting workshops this year to support Truth and Reconciliation training for students, staff and faculty in the Faculty of Science. The sessions are a reprisal of workshops held last year – offering the UBC Science community ongoing opportunities to learn, engage and ultimately help advance the important work of Reconciliation
Join us in person for a three-hour workshop to deepen your understanding of First Nations history in Canada. The goal of this project is to increase the collective capacity of UBC Science to understand the lived experiences of Indigenous Peoples as well as to learn about colonial Canadian narratives that impact Indigenous communities.
Instructor: Brad Marsden from the Gitksan Nation, British Columbia, creates space for groups to learn, listen, understand and discuss the impact of residential schools and colonization.
Supported by UBC Science to help advance the UBC Indigenous Strategic Plan.
