About the "Huts"

Of course *everyone* knows that HUTS stands for "Historical Ultimate Theatrical Spectacular" (Alistair Blachford, 2019). But it seems that many people do not know about the buildings... the Huts and their clubhouse atmosphere. Here is the view from the sky in 2003:

To get a feeling of the between-party ambience of the Huts, here is a little movie:

Fun facts:
1) Hut-B6 was built at the Tofino airport as temporary army barracks in World War II, then moved here.
2) Calcitonin was discovered in Hut-B6.
3) Our computing unit in Hut-B6 was the first UNIX site in Canada (1975).
4) The movie was recorded using a magnet on a plastic tape covered in rust!

According to ZGSA 2019: But what is Huts?! The rumours are true: Huts is an event like no other. Join us for a a night of farcical comedy, whimsical theatrics and fearless singing/dancing, as our very own grad students put on a *high-quality production* that provides endless embarrassment (and the occasional heart-warm) to our faculty. Everybody is welcome to sit back, relax and enjoy our show. Audience participation is not mandatory (except for one lucky post-doc).
