Sheppard Lab - Master's Project Student studying Campylobacter host adaptation.
For my Master’s project, I studied Campylobacter species, with a particular emphasis on host adaptation in wild birds and chickens. I used a range of bioinformatics approaches to identify genes associated with specific hosts and environments, complemented by laboratory experiments that mimic host ecology and environmental selective pressures, to understand how genotypic variation translates into phenotypic and niche differences.
