Coho salmon

(Oncorhynchus kisutch)

A coho salmon with bright silver coloration; characteristic of a fish that has recently returned from the ocean.

A male coho salmon with spawning coloration.

Juvenile coho salmon usually reside in streams for one or two years before migrating to the ocean to attain an adult body size.

Male coho develop a strongly hooked snout or 'kype'.
