CONNECTIVE TISSUE PROPER LOOSE reticular:
- The fibroblasts are embedded in the matrix: they do not lie
in lacunae (chambers within the matrix).
- The ground substance is highly visible. It is loosely packed with fibers
mostly reticular, which form a fine network supporting accessory cells.
- Reticular tissue forms the delicate framework (or stroma) that supports
blood cells in lymph nodes, the spleen and bone marrow.
